The Las Cruces Sun-Times has an article up that discusses NMSU loss to Ohio in their season opener and their upcoming game with the Blue Devils. Head Coach Marvin Menzies' strategy is to give his veteran players the most playing time. "It's a senior team," Menzies said. "I'm going to ride or die with the returning guys."
Coach Menzies states that the Aggies' goal is to hold opponents to 27% 3-point shooting. He says they will have to do a better job defending the 3-point shot against Duke or they will be in trouble. Ohio shot 33% from beyond the arc. Duke nailed 57% of their 3-point shots against NCCU.
Talented Freshman Herb Pope did not play against Ohio and his eligibility status for the game against Duke is currently unknown. According to the Sun-Times, Pope is awaiting eligibilty clearance from the NCAA and he is unlikely to play on Monday.
