View Article  It's All But Official, Cutcliife Should Be The Next Head Football Coach at Duke

It's all but official that Tennessee offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe (53) will be the next football coach at Duke University.  Several Vol's fans sites are as convinced as some Duke faithful are that Cutcliffe will be announced any hour now.  In fact, the worry in Knoxville is if Cutcliffe will participate in the Outback Bowl.

Subscribers to the Blue Devil Nation Premium Newsletter were made aware yesterday that Cutcliffe had emerged as the clear leader to replace Ted Roof.    Cutcliffe is a repected offensive coach and gained experience as a head coach at Ole Miss.  He owns a 44-29 lifetime record.

Cutcliffe is married, his wife's name being Karen.  He has four children, three of which either currenlty or formerly at Tenneesee.  He is originally from Birmingham, Alabama.

As of last evening, Cutcliffe refused to comment, stating policy.  He has coached some outstanding quarterbacks which include Peyton and Eli Manning, Erik Ainge and Heath Shuler.  The BDN expects that Duke will announce a press conference between today and Monday if indeed Cutcliffe has accepted the job.
