View Article  Patterson and Huntington face a stiff test

Be sure to see Patrick Patterson and his Huntington teammates go up against St. Patrick on ESPN 2  tomorrow night.

DeMatha was the only team to defeat St. Patrick this season.  Huntington is ranked  anywhere from #3 to 6 nationally.  St. Patrick could move into the top spot in every poll with a win, coupled with an Oak Hill loss.

St. Patrick [ranked #1 by USA Today] features Villanova bound Corey Fisher and Jeff Robinson who is headed to Memphis.

Huntington High is healthy for the game.  Two players had head injuries, but have been cleared to play.

Taylor King became the third 3,000-point scorer in Southern Section history and fifth in state history after a 24-point performance during a 74-53 second-round victory for Mater Dei over host Westlake in Division I-AA playoff action on Tuesday night.

The Duke-bound King, who's Orange County's all-time leading scorer with 3,003 points, also grabbed 14 rebounds.

Travis Wear and Alex Jacobson both scored 12 points for top-seeded Mater Dei (27-3). Mauro Ormedilla had 19 points, four rebounds and five assists and Allen Scott finished with nine points for Westlake (20-8).
