Elliot Williams says Duke is now one of his leaders. "I went dinner with Coach Krzyzewski and got to know him a little bit," said the athletic prospect.
"I got to tour the campus and spend time with the assistant coaches .. it was wonderful," he said. It was obvious that the unofficial visit which lasted twelve hours went well.
Williams went on, "Coach K is a veteran and it would be a great opportunity to play for him." The Memphis star said that Duke has told them of their interest in him.
When asked what he was looking for in a school he said, "A good relationship with the head coach, location, team chemistry ...
"I don't have a leader, but Duke moved up ... they moved up," said Williams

Elliot Williams is a human highlight reel.
He plans to make a decision just before his senior season and told me he was looking forward to trying to win the state, where his team fell in the championship game.
In speaking with his Dad, I got a little more insight. "He started playing basketball when he was five years old." "He doesn't really have a timetable on a decision but will look for things like the all around program, fan support and education opportunities ... he wants to go into business or something like that."
"This is basketball country," stated the elder Williams. "We really like the area."
Elliot stated that the Duke staff told him how they would use him and liked what they said.
"Carolina has been talking to my parents mostly, but they haven't offered. I haven't had a chance to go out there, but I am hoping I will be able to do that as well," stated Williams.
"All the schools have been pretty aggressive in their recruitment of me, but right now, Duke and Tennessee are there.
He went on, "Duke said I would play most every possession... that I am long and that they are looking for a player like me ... athletic, can shoot, so they think I can fit well in their system."
When asked if he could be a lead ball handler, he stated that he is working on that ... "I have been a scorer all my life, but I am working on it."
"Duke told me to work on my strength, but I am growing ... I am still growing."
His team won as he dropped 23 points and Williams had a bevy of highlights showing off his athletic ability.
He has great on ball defense and is cat quick. He is not afraid to go to the boards and cherishes the chance to dunk, rising with ease.
He has super court vision, a good handle and the ability to turn it up with great bursts of speed. Williams loved playing along the baseline, calls for the ball and his teammates need to stay alert in that he is capable of making various no look passes.
His team started slow yet won this evening. They haven't played together that much. At one point in the first half, he drained a three and then led the break after a defensive play dunking with authority.
It didn't take long to see what Duke liked about the young man who lists eight schools.
I will chime in with more later, including questions asked away from the general media and some comments from those who know him best.
