Duke hopes to build upon their first win of the season as they venture to the Naval Academy for a 1:00 kickoff.  The Midshipman have had their way with the Blue Devils ion recent meetings and this game should serve as a barometer as to how far Duke has come.

Stopping the vaunted Navy running game is a daunting task.  In order to have a shot at victory, the Blue Devil defense will have to find a way to stay fresh in the fourth quarter.

So far this season, Duke still struggles at making halftime adjustments and a failure to do so in this game will ensure a defeat.  Duke should be able to pass against a struggling Navy secondary.  A key will be to keep the ball in the air early and often.  While I look for Duke to try and establish a running game, giving it too much emphasis could be a recipe for defeat.

Look for Duke to rotate a lot of players on defense and stack the front.  Needless to say, the linebackers will be tested in a big way.  Navy will likely try to ram the ball down our throat on ball controlled drives.  It all seems to point to a high scoring affair, but college football is unpredictable and errors will be the key.  Too many turnovers and it could get lopsided.

I feel Duke will need to score early and often to win.  While I will certainly be pulling for the Dukie's, I must pick Navy for the following reasons.  1- they are at home 2- they have been to several bowls and know this game is one of the key factors in returning 3- the option wears teams down late in the game and if trailing, well, you're in trouble.
