View Article  Olek Czyz Update

Olek Czyz will be in action this Sunday at the Capital Classic. He will play for the U.S. All-Stars coached by St. Benedict's Danny Hurley. Other ACC commits playing for the U.S. All-Stars include Sylvan Landesberg (Virginia), Sean Mosley (Maryland), Tanner Smith (Clemson), Ty Walker (Wake Forest), Deividas Dulkys (Florida State), and Andre Young (Clemson). The U.S. All-Stars will face the Capital All-Stars coached by Joe Wootten of Bishop O'Connell. Prominent members of the Capital All-Stars include forwards Kris Joseph (Syracuse) and Chris Braswell (Georgetown). Joseph is the #41 ranked player in the Class of 2008, while Braswell is #52.  It will be interesting to see how Czyz matches up against these higher ranked forwards.

View Article  Kammeon Holsey - 2009 Prospect - Premium Boo Williams Coverage Starts Tomorrow!
The AAU Basketball season kicks off this weekend during the Boo Williams Invitational in Hampton, Virginia.  One of the players many will scramble to get interviews with is Kammeon Holsey of the Georgia Stars.  What's that?  Who's he?  Holsey is one of the players which the Blue Devils will evaluate in the coming months and the first site to break any news of this was this one.

BDN Premium members have already heard about Holsey and many other prospects that are hitting the radar.  BDNP is generally several steps ahead of those corporate sites concerning Duke Hoops recruitng.  Our members will get top notch coverage of the Boo Williams event starting tomorrow evening.  Rest assured that no site will outwork this one.

There is a reason BDN Premium continues to grow and I want you to be a part of the Blue Devil Nation.  So for unique coverage of all things Duke, go to one of the three paypal links and join us.

Thank's to all our members for their help in making this a great destination in less than two years time.  It's easy to serve the Duke community when you love the subject matter and have been around the programs for many years.  No site has more passion!  Here is an article that was in premium early this week.

(Monday) The Duke staff continues to comb the country looking for frontcourt help and will be very active on the AAU trail in the month of April. Once again they have zeroed in on a talented player which they will evaluate in an effort to fill in the class of 2009.  Kammeon Holsey is a 6-8 and growing power forward prospect from Sparta, Georgia.

Kammeon Holsey #55 makes going to the rim difficult for his opponent.  BDNP is gearing up for one of the busiest times of year for our subscribers.

Holsey who grew an inch since Christmas, most recently led Hancock Central to their first ever state championship.  In doing so, he tossed in 18 points in a defensive battle and dropped 32 in a previous play off game.  Holsey is a very athletic player who continues to improve each time out.  He burst onto the scene during last seasons Peach Jam where he secured offers from the likes of Xavier, Georgia, Clemson Tech and Florida State.

Holsey got a call from the Blue Devils last week, who said they would be taking a look at him during the upcoming AAU season where he plays for the Georgia Stars.  Holsey admits that when Duke called he knew he had arrived and that it made him step back to ponder the situation more closely

He has only recently showed interest in what his future college choice might be, despite eight offers in hand and more on the way.  Holsey never really thought he'd blossom as he has, recalling his early years when he was a skinny guard before his growth spurt set in.

Anthony Webb, Holsey's AAU coach, claims that he is a hard worker destined for better things and they look forward to the opportunity to coach him as the summer progresses.  His team has already gotten their feet wet going up against the powerful Atlanta Celtics and Derrick Favors and crew which was termed a learning experience.

All Holsey did this past season was average 18.1 PPG and grabbed 11.8 rebounds, being named his regions player of the year.  He had a season high 32 points which showed his ability to take over a game.

Holsey now says that he will slow down the recruiting process, taking care to consider his options.  He is likely not to commit before November which is close to the official signing period.  Much like his teammate Kenny Hall (Tennessee), the one thing Holsey will work on is his strength,
