WIth Mason Plumlee in the bag, Duke fans turned their attention to Kenny Boynton and for the ones who made it to Chapel Hill, he didn't disappoint.  Despite being worn from travel and having just finished exams, Boyton focused in as Team Breakdown won it's opening game by the mercy rule.

During the Tournament of Champions, the mercy rule is implemented at the four minute mark if a team has a 20 point lead.  Baltimore Cecil Kirk was glad the game ended for they had no answer for the team from South Florida's claim to the best AAU backcourt in America.  Sensational 2010 guard Brandon Knight had just 11 points, but he dazzled with his ability to slash through the opponent's defense at breakneck speed.

Knight's heroics were something to behold, but Kenny Boynton was scoring at will and would not be denied.  On one play he scored with two Kirk players literally hanging on his arms and connected at the line for a three point play.  The next time down court he flushed a three from the top of the key.  In short, Boynton scored in every conceivable way,

Perhaps the most spectacular play was a dunk, where he broke past two defenders and went up effortlessly, slamming the ball home so hard that the ball caromed back up on the bounce and hit the rim.  Kenny had 20 points in the first half alone and finished the game with 33 points, 5 assists and 2 steals.

Meanwhile in Cameron, Mason Plumlee led his Indiana Elite team to an easy win, scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 boards.

Team Breakdown will take on the Connecticut Basketball Club tomorrow in Cameron.  The game starts at 11:00 and is open to the general public.  The Blue Devil Nation Premium will have an interview with Kenny up shortly.  BDNP also talked to prospects Nick Russell, Josh Hairston and Mason Plumlee on Friday evening alone.  To read these interviews and get unique scouting reports observations, join Blue Devil Nation Premium.  We will keep you in the know.
